Booking terms

These Booking Terms & Conditions apply to all reservations, bookings and stays at Art Rest Homestay, located in Ahmedabad, India. By making a reservation, you agree to be bound by these terms and by our separate Privacy Policy (which explains how we collect, use and protect personal data).

Minimum age. The primary guest must be at least 18 years old to check in. Minors must be accompanied by an adult guardian and must not stay alone.

Valid identification. All guests aged 18 or over must present government‑issued photo identification (e.g., Aadhaar card, driving licence, voter ID card or passport) at check‑in. The ID must match the booking details. Failure to present valid ID may result in refusal of check‑in.

Guarantee and payments. Reservations are confirmed only when full payment or a specified advance deposit is received. For bookings made through third‑party platforms you must also present the booking confirmation or voucher at check‑in.

Security deposit. A refundable security deposit may be required for specific areas or event bookings, including family functions. The deposit amount and payment method (cash/card) will be communicated at the time of booking. The deposit will be refunded after the relevant area or event is completed, subject to inspection and clearance of any dues.

Taxes and fees. All rates are subject to applicable government taxes and may vary according to changes in tax structure. Tariffs are subject to revision without prior notice.

Check‑in and check‑out times. Standard check‑in is from 12 noon, and check‑out is by 11 AM. Early check‑in or late check‑out may be possible subject to availability and may incur additional charges.

Room allocation. Art Rest reserves the right to allocate a different room of equivalent category in case of unforeseen circumstances.

House rules. To ensure a pleasant stay for all guests:

Maintain cleanliness and hygiene; turn off lights, air‑conditioning and electronics when leaving the room.

Respect quiet hours by avoiding loud noise between 10 PM and 8 AM.

Unregistered guests or visitors are not permitted without prior approval.

Smoking is prohibited in guest rooms and indoor areas; permitted only in designated outdoor areas.

Children must be supervised by a responsible adult at all times.

Pets may be allowed only in designated rooms with prior approval and must be kept on a leash in common areas; owners are fully responsible for cleaning up after pets and for any damages or liability.

Gambling, contraband, prostitution, weapons (including licensed firearms), explosives, flammable objects, poisons, drugs and pungent food are strictly prohibited.

Please abide by all applicable laws and government regulations.

Damages and loss. Guests are liable for any loss or damage caused to the property, furnishings or equipment beyond normal wear and tear. Art Rest reserves the right to recover such costs from the security deposit and to charge additional amounts if necessary. Guests must keep rooms in good condition and maintain cleanliness.

Personal belongings. The homestay does not accept liability for loss, theft or damage to guests’ belongings. Guests are advised to secure their valuables and use any lockers provided.

Misconduct. Should any behaviour be deemed inappropriate or disruptive, Art Rest reserves the right—after appropriate investigation—to refuse service or require the guest to vacate the premises. No refunds will be given in such cases.

Amendments. Changes to reservations (dates, number of guests, etc.) are subject to availability and may incur an amendment fee. Some amendments may not be permitted within a specified number of days before arrival. Specific amendment terms will be disclosed at the time of booking.

Cancellations. A cancellation policy will apply to all bookings. Cancellation charges are typically based on the notice period before arrival (e.g., a percentage of the booking amount deducted when cancelling closer to the arrival date). Peak periods, festival days or promotional rates may attract stricter cancellation rules and may be non‑refundable.

No‑shows and early departures. If you do not check‑in on the scheduled arrival date and fail to inform Art Rest, the booking may be considered a “no‑show,” the room may be released, and 100 % of the booking amount may be forfeited. No refunds are provided for shortened stays or unoccupied periods.

Arrival confirmation. Guests may be contacted via phone, email or messaging shortly before arrival to confirm check‑in status or arrival time. If Art Rest does not receive a response after multiple attempts, your booking may be put on hold or cancelled; however, we will try to reinstate the booking upon later confirmation and subject to availability.

Feedback. We may contact guests after their stay to request feedback on their experience, which helps us improve our services.

Art Rest collects and processes personal data (e.g., contact details, identification documents and payment information) to manage bookings and provide hospitality services. Such data will be handled according to the Art Rest Privacy Policy, and in compliance with the Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 and other applicable laws. By making a booking you consent to the collection and use of your data for legitimate purposes, including contacting you about your reservation or requesting feedback.

Art Rest shall not be liable for any loss, damage or expense arising from events beyond its control (e.g., natural disasters, government regulations, pandemic‑related restrictions, power outages or other force‑majeure events). In such circumstances, Art Rest may modify or cancel reservations and will make reasonable efforts to notify guests and assist with rescheduling.

Art Rest reserves the right to update or amend these Terms & Conditions at any time. The version published on our website at the time of booking shall apply to your reservation. We encourage guests to review these terms periodically.

These Terms & Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising out of or relating to these terms or your stay shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ahmedabad.
